California and Nevada Self Drive Tour

Days 1-5

You will be flying direct from London Heathrow into Los Angeles with Virgin Atlantic. Upon arrival you will collect your full size vehicle and head to the Intercontinental Los Angeles, a beautiful 4 star property with a prime location on the Avenue of the Stars. Ideally situated, the MGM Tower, Beverley Hills Rodeo Drive and 20th Century Fox Studios are all within walking distance. Head to Santa Monica Pier to view perfect sunsets or even go to an LA Galaxy football game! The guestrooms are all fully air-conditioned and have tea/coffee making facilities, mini bar, internet access and cable television. Here you can also take a day to visit the original Disney World and also take in the thrills of Universal and the excitement of SeaWorld California.

Days 5-8

Set off early for your drive to San Francisco - this can take up to 7-8 hours. Take the California Highway 1 for the scenic route through Santa Barbara, along the Big Sur, through Santa Cruz and up to San Francisco. You will be staying in the heart of the world famous Union Square at the Hotel Nikko San Francisco. This hotel is in a great location to visit all San Francisco has to offer including the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf and of course, the trip to Alcatraz. You are within walking distance to a choice of theatres, an array of shops and many restaurants. The elegant rooms in this hotel are all air conditioned, have CD players, coffee and tea making facilities and a large plasma screen television.

Days 8-10

Travel the 5 hours from San Francisco to the incredible views of Yosemite. Here you will be staying at the Yosemite View Lodge with views of the Merced River. Having been renovated in 2004, the guestrooms have all got a balcony or terrace, are air conditions and have fridge, microwave and tea/coffee making facilities. Be sure to visit the waterfalls including Bridal Veil Falls, and on the way out of Yosemite National Park stop and take in the serene Tenaya Lake.

Days 10-17

You have got another 7 hour drive ahead of you to Las Vegas with Death Valley en-route so an early start is advisable. Your hotel for the next 7 nights is the popular Luxor. Located right on the Strip in the middle of all the action this is an ideal base for nights of parting and gambling! The guestrooms all come with satellite television, air conditioning and views of the Strip. Since you are here for a week, visit the Grand Canyon, approximately 4 hours away and the Hoover Dam which is only 1-2 hours' drive.

Day 17

Drop your vehicle off at Las Vegas airport, ready to catch the return flight home to London, again direct with Virgin Atlantic.
