Days 1-2

Fly with one of our partner airlines into Halifax - Air Canada offer a direct flight, whereas United and Delta Airlines fly indirect with one change en route in each direction.

Collect your rental car from the airport and head towards The Prince George Hotel, a luxurious hotel located in the heart of downtown Halifax, nestled between the waterfront and the historic Citadel Hill. The hotel offers direct access to the Downtown Link connecting you an abundance of shops and the Casino Nova.

Days 2-3

Spend the morning at your leisure. Take the opportunity to have a guided tour around Halifax; taking in all the major highlights such as the Halifax Citadel National Historic Park and St Pauls Church.

You will then begin your self-drive holiday to Nova Scotia. Head along the Lighthouse route through the charming fishing village of Peggys Cove and on to White point on the southwest coast of Nova Scotia. You will be staying in the White Point Beach Resort - a beachfront hotel located directly on White Point Road with breath-taking views out to sea.

Days 3 - 5

Drive across Nova Scotia from the east to the west coast. On your way through you may wish to take the opportunity to visit the Kejimkujik National Park, with its magnificent landscapes. Then continue on to the quaint fishing town of Digby, where you will be spending the next two nights of your holiday at the Digby Pines Golf Resort and Spa, an elegant hotel overlooking the Bay of Fundy.

Spend your free time here exploring this picturesque waterfront town with its delightful restaurants and bars, or simply relax in the comfort of this beautiful hotel. Facilities include an outdoor heated swimming pool, a full fitness centre and a par 71, 18-hole Stanley Thompson golf course.

Days 5-6

Begin your day by driving along the northern shore line overlooking the Bay of Fundy (well known for having the highest tides in the world) and continue on to Wolfville, home of the Acadia University. You will be staying at the Blomidon Inn located in Wolfville, with a 19th century English Manor-house design.

Days 6-7

Travel along the scenic shores of the Bay of Fundy towards Truro, known as the hub of Nova Scotia. Originally established in 1759 by the Ulster Scottish settlers, Truro is rich in history and popular with tourists. Head towards the Holiday Inn Truro found in the heart of downtown Truro, an ideal location for those looking to explore this charming town.

Days 7-8

Start today by travelling north into New Brunswick, before continuing on to Fundy Trails where you will find the Hearst Lodge. Built as a fishing lodge above salmon spawning ponds by the newspaper tycoon, J. Randolph Hearst, the lodge was a real life inspiration for Citizen Kane written by Orson Welles. Tonight you will be staying in the Delta Brunswick Saint John Hotel, located in the heart of the uptown area, close to Brunswick Square shopping centre, Market Square and St John City Market.

Days 8-9

Continue your journey north to the shores of the Northumberland Strait then on to Shediac, a delightful village known as the Lobster capital of the World. Make your way to the Domaine Parlee Beach, found at the entrance of the Parlee Beach Provincial Park with easy access to many of the local attractions and activities.

Days 9-10

Today you will be driving across the magnificent eight mile stretch of the Confederation Bridge, the longest bridge in the world which crosses the ice-covered water below. Continue on to Prince Edward Island, the smallest province in Canada. Here you will be staying in the Loyalist Lakeview Resort Summerside, a charming hotel found right next to the harbour front, offering stunning views out to sea.

Days 10-11

Begin the morning by exploring the peaceful Prince Edward Island (also known as the Garden of the Gulf) with its beautiful coastline and lush, green landscape. Finish the day at the Delta Prince Edward Hotel found in the capital of the island, Charlottesville. The hotel is located in the heart of Olde Charlottetown, next to Peakes Wharf which has an abundance of shops and only steps away from the winding boardwalk - a great location for exploring this picturesque city.

Days 11-12

Travel to Wood Island where you may like to take the ferry journey across to the mainland of Nova Scotia, before travelling on to Baddeck, found on Cape Breton Island. Make your way to the Cape Breton Island Resort, a private location nestled between dense forests, lush gardens and the tranquil lake. Here you will find a wealth of activities including world-class golf, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, hiking and canoeing, and there is even a large playground for the children.

Days 12-13

Spend today enjoying your location and the activities on offer, or you may like to visit the Cape Breton National Park with its stunning scenery. Continue your journey on to Sydney; here you will be staying at the Delta Sydney Hotel, located in the heart of downtown Sydney overlooking the waterfront and boardwalk. This luxury hotel offers a full range of on-site facilities to include an indoor swimming pool, a health club, a sauna, a whirlpool, a fitness centre and a choice of restaurants.

Days 13-14

Drive along the eastern shoreline of the lake as you head south back to the mainland of Nova Scotia, then on to Liscombe, a small fishing village on the east coast of the province. Your hotel for the night will be the Marquis of Dufferin Seaside Inn located on the eastern shore of Nova Scotia overlooking amazing views of this unique heritage site.

Day 14

Enjoy your last day driving the scenic Marine Drive along the Atlantic Coast before arriving back into Halifax. Here you will need to return your vehicle before boarding your return flight home to the UK.
