Travelling during Covid

As travel restrictions are being lifted and holidays abroad are becoming a reality once again. Here is an insight as to what to expect when travelling abroad in summer.

A recent visit to the island of Mallorca in the Balearic Islands was a wonderful short break and much needed sunshine. (as our normal Florida holiday was still not possible). Although the UK has been treated to some warm weather recently, a swim in the warm Mediterranean Sea and sipping a cocktail in a beachside bar offers the perfect holiday to Spain.

Mallorca has always been a firm favourite with British holiday makers, with pretty mountainous villages to the chic marina resorts and not forgetting the lively hotspots. We chose the quieter east coast for our holiday, which offers pretty coves and hillsides cladded with the pine forests.

The procedures in the UK and at Palma airport were efficient, other than wearing masks; the flights were like any other holiday I have been on and equally as busy. We found each of the tests straight forward and the results came through in ample time for travel. Overhearing other passengers on the outbound flight it was clear that a number of passengers were unaware of the requirements for the return journey and some were being turned away at the check in desk, and having to go to the testing centre at Palma airport and then complete the UK passenger locator form.
