Sample Itinerary of Orlando & Marco Island Holiday

Everyone has heard of the city of theme parks, International Drive, Orlando Eye and many other attractions. Orlando is famous for a reason. It is a world-class destination. Visitors want to experience the world renowned Walt Disney World, Epcot Center and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. They want to cool down in Typhoon Lagoon Waterpark.

Your family may prefer to visit SeaWorld and see Shamu and other whales and dolphins perform with acrobats and music. Or, you may want to visit the Wet and Wild Waterpark where you can splash down waterslides or race your family on the Aqua Drag Racer.

When you have soaked up all that Orlando offers, head to Marco Island. Marco Island is located on the southwestern tip of Florida. This island is surrounded by gorgeous beaches like Tigertail Beach. This natural beach does not have the pristine feel of a combed beach. Here, sea grass, tiny crabs and other live aquatic animals scurry to hide in the sand. Take a beach bike or paddle boat over the waters. Shelling is great in this area. Watch for starfish and sand dollars in the tidal pools.

Captain Horr’s Pineapple Plantation ruins are a nice quiet way to spend the day. The thick walls still have shells nestled in them. Mangos grow wild on the trees. If you are lucky, you can spot Gopher tortoises ambling along the grounds.

Take a bike tour around Marco Island to see osprey, manatees, owls and turtles, along with picture-worthy views. The sunset tour will have you back in time to enjoy a drink and the sun setting over the ocean. This is a great way to work off all of those vacation calories.

Great restaurants like Lee Be Fish offer fish sandwiches and fish and chips. Not in the mood for seafood? How about Davinci where pizza hot from the oven tempts your tastebuds? Or you can enjoy fine dining at the Bistro Soleil at the Olde Marco Inn. Enjoy seafood cassolette in the library dining room or have crème brulee on the patio.

When the sun is setting and you are ready to rest, villas and hotels offer amenities like free wi-fi, beautiful pools, and views of the Gulf Coast. Some villas have private docks where you can wind down with a pineapple drink while you watch the sunset. Others offer luxurious spa-like bathrooms with jetted tubs and double shower heads with massage. The resorts offer oceanfront rooms and suites, golf, workout areas and spas.
