Hi, I'm Claire, a Senior Travel Consultant at Charter Travel with 30 years of experience planning holidays across Asia, Southern Africa, and beyond!
My career began over 30 years ago, starting with a work experience placement while studying Travel & Tourism that turned into a full-time job. I've continued in travel ever since, including raising a family along the way, and have now been part of the Charter Travel team for almost 10 years. After so many years in the industry, my passion for travel is as strong as ever; particularly for destinations like Vietnam, South Africa and India.
Some of my favourite travel memories perfectly capture why I love what I do. From practising Tai Chi at sunrise on deck while sailing through Halong Bay, to encountering an incredible albino elephant calf in South Africa, and standing back in India as market stallholders hurriedly moved everything out of the way for a huge yak with enormous horns to casually stroll through, causing complete havoc! It's those unexpected, unforgettable moments that make travel so special to me. There is nothing quite like experiencing different cultures, seeing incredible wildlife and being immersed in places that are completely different from home.
After more than three decades in the industry, I'm still discovering new places, making new memories and, most importantly, encouraging others to experience the magic of travel for themselves.

If I win the lottery tomorrow:
I’d be heading straight to Botswana and Zambia, with a few unforgettable days at Victoria Falls thrown in for good measure. The perfect combination of incredible wildlife, breathtaking scenery and adventure!
My next big holiday:
Japan. It’s been high on my wish list for a while, and I can’t wait to experience its fascinating mix of ancient traditions, incredible food, beautiful scenery and modern culture.
Where would I go back to?
That’s a very difficult question! I’d happily return to almost every country I’ve visited, as each has given me such wonderful memories. But if I had to choose, Switzerland and South Africa would be very high on the list. Both are incredibly beautiful, offer such diverse experiences, and have left a lasting impression on me.
