Days 1-4: Lima, Peru

Arrive in Lima, Peru's bustling capital and transfer to your hotel with a pre-arranged private transfer. Choose from a variety of accommodation options; for a more moderate hotel we recommend Casa Andina Standard Miraflores, and for a luxury option the JW Marriott Hotel Lima. 

Whilst in Lima, explore the historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage site, visit the Larco Museum, home to an extensive collection of pre-Columbian art, and enjoy the culinary delights of Lima's Miraflores and Barranco.

Days 5-7: Cusco and Sacred Valley, Peru

After flying to Cusco (approx. 1.5 hours from Lima), you will check into your hotel. For your accommodation here there are a variety of options from boutique hotels to high-end resorts in Cusco and the Sacred Valley; for a more moderate hotel we recommend El Mercado, and for a luxury option the Belmond Hotel Monasterio. 

When you first arrive, spend some time acclimatising to the higher altitude in Cusco, then explore its cobblestone streets and Incan ruins. Visit the Sacred Valley, including Pisac Market and Ollantaytambo Fortress. 

Days 8-9: Machu Picchu, Peru

Check into your hotel in Aguas Calientes; for a more moderate hotel we recommend Casa Andina Standard Machu Picchu and and for a luxury option, the Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel. Enjoy a scenic train ride from Cusco to Aguas Calientes (approximately 3.5 hours) on your way to the iconic Machu Picchu — the legendary Inca citadel. If you are feeling up to it, why not hike Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain for amazing panoramic views!

Days 10-12: Iguazu Falls, Argentina/Brazil

After exploring Machu Picchu, you will return to Cusco and fly to Iguazu in Argentina/Brazil. Choose from a variety of hotels near the falls; for a more moderate hotel we recommend La Cantera Jungle Lodge, and and for a luxury option the Belmond Hotel das Cataratas. 

Explore the Argentinian side of Iguazu Falls with its extensive walkways, then visit the Brazilian side for panoramic views and the famous Devil’s Throat. Why not also enjoy a boat ride to experience the falls up close! 

Days 13-16: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

After experiencing the majestic Iguazu Falls, fly to Rio de Janeiro — Brazil's buzzing capital! Stay in Rio's famous neighbourhoods like Copacabana or Ipanema! For a more moderate hotel option be suggest the Windsor Excelsior Hotel, and for a 5* luxury experience the Belmond Copacabana Palace. 

Whilst in Rio, be sure to visit the iconic Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf Mountain. Then, spend an afternoon relaxing on the iconic Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, and explore the vibrant neighbourhoods of Santa Teresa and Lapa. Why not also take a day trip to the historic town of Petropolis or a favela tour.

Travel and Transfers

When you book this itinerary, all all flights, transfers between airports and hotels, and accommodation will pre-arranged and included. The Vistadome train offers panoramic views on the journey to Machu Picchu, though you can also upgrade to the luxurious Hiram Bingham train for an exclusive experience.
