Days 1-3
Fly from the United Kingdom with Delta Airlines via one of their east coast hubs into Salt Lake City. Once you have picked up your hire car head towards the city centre, and your choice of hotel, recommended to suit any budget. Spend the first two days exploring the city - perhaps take a trip out to the Great Salt Lake, or catch a performance by the famous Morman Tabanacle Choir.
Days 3-4
From Salt Lake City head to the Grand Teton National Park, home to breath-taking mountain ranges that form park of the Rockies, native black bears, wolves and bison. The Teton Mountain Lodge is a fantastic year round resort for both skiing and summer visits to the park and the ideal base from which to explore the park.
Days 4-5
The first ever inaugurated national park in world, Yellowstone National Park is famous for its stunning mix of hot springs, active geysers, fast flowing waterfalls and vast crystal clear lakes. Old Faithful the most impressive and very active geyser and the Grand Prismatic Spring, with its stunning blue thermal waters are both must see natural phenomena. Stay in one of a number of recommended hotels in the small town of West Yellowstone which has a range of affordable and more luxury hotels.
Days 5-6
The town of Cody was founded by the famous explorer Buffalo Bill Cody, and has a proud heritage of rodeo, which is very important to the culture of the area. It hosts regular amateur rodeo nights and annual professional rodeo competitions. The Buffalo Bill Historical Centre charts the life and times of Buffalo Bill, and the history of Native Americans and cowboy settlers. The Old Trail Town recreates life in this era and is a popular attraction in Cody.
Days 6-7
On the way to Sheridan stop off at the Little Bighorn Battlefield, the site of an intense battle between the native North American people and troops led by George Custer. Sheridan is located close to the Bighorn National Forest with spectacular waterfalls and hiking routes.
Days 7-8
Rapid City is the gateway to Mount Rushmore, the iconic monument to founding presidents of the United States. The lesser known Crazy Horse Monument marks the life of the Native American war leader, Crazy Horse - an imposing structure which is still being carved and blasted out of the rock face. If you missed the Bears in the wild visit Bear Country, a drive through wildlife park home to a range of animals native to the area, including wolves and mountain lions. Days 8-10
Leave the natural beauty of the great wilderness of America behind, head to Denver in Colorado. After your adventures through the inspiring national parks, some rest and relaxation at the Spa at the Brown Palace Hotel is a fantastic way to reflect on your trip. The Denver Botanic Gardens in the heart of the city is home to a diverse range of plants and flowers and the Denver Art Museum is home to an amazing collection. A trip to the imposing Capitol Building is recommended, with its glittering gold dome, it is exactly a mile above sea level, giving Denver its nickname as the Mile High city. Whichever hotel you choose from our downtown collection will ensure you are able to unwind at the end of your amazing adventure holiday before you travel home.
Day 10
On your final day, drop your hire car off at Denver International Airport before boarding your flight back to the United Kingdom.
