Day 1: Fly to Los Angeles. Fly direct from London to LAX, collect your SUV and drive about an hour south to Anaheim and the Hilton Anaheim.

Days 2 - 5: Disneyland California. Four days in the parks with your Park Hopper tickets. Walk to the gates each morning, take a break at the hotel pool in the afternoon heat, and head back for the evening fireworks and World of Colour.

Day 6: Drive to Los Angeles. A relaxed morning, then drive about an hour north to The Garland in North Hollywood.

Days 7 - 10: Los Angeles. Explore at your own pace: Universal Studios Hollywood, the Hollywood sign from Griffith Observatory, the Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach, or the beaches of Malibu.

Your Disneyland California Holiday Hotels

Hilton Anaheim (5 nights)

The Hilton Anaheim is an official Disneyland Resort Good Neighbor Hotel, around a 15-minute walk from the entrances to both Disney parks. That location makes a real difference on a Disneyland holiday:

  • Walk to the parks. There's no driving, no queuing for car parks and no paying for Disneyland parking each day. Your SUV stays at the hotel until you leave for Los Angeles.
  • Take a midday break. Disneyland days are long, and Southern California afternoons can be hot. Being so close means you can head back for a swim or a rest, then return for the evening fireworks and World of Color.
  • Shuttle for tired legs. The Anaheim Resort shuttle runs daily from the hotel to the Disneyland Resort, which is handy at the end of a long park day.
  • Room to relax. The hotel has an outdoor pool for downtime between park visits.
  • Places to eat on site. Calla's Restaurant, Bar Calla and Saltflower Social Kitchen mean there's somewhere to eat without going far, and the restaurants of Downtown Disney are a short walk away.
  • Good value. You're close enough to walk to the parks, at a lower price than a Disney-owned hotel inside the resort.

The Garland, Los Angeles (5 nights)

The Garland is a relaxed, family-friendly hotel in North Hollywood, set around a large outdoor pool and close to Universal Studios Hollywood. It's an easy base for Hollywood and Griffith Observatory, and for day trips to Santa Monica and Malibu, with a restaurant and parking on site.

Check the hotel facilities, the walking time and any Universal shuttle against current hotel information before publishing.

About Disneyland California

Disneyland California, officially the Disneyland Resort, is in Anaheim, Orange County, around 25 miles south-east of downtown Los Angeles. Opened in 1955, it's the original Disney theme park, and its two parks sit side by side:

Disneyland Park:

  • Sleeping Beauty Castle, Main Street, U.S.A., Fantasyland, Tomorrowland and Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, with classics such as Space Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean

Disney California Adventure Park:

  • Cars Land, Pixar Pier and Avengers Campus, with the World of Colour show on the lagoon at night.

Four park days is ideal for a first visit, enough to enjoy both parks without rushing. For more ideas, see all our Disneyland California holidays.

About Disneyland California

Disneyland California, officially the Disneyland Resort, is in Anaheim, Orange County, around 25 miles south-east of downtown Los Angeles. It has two theme parks whose entrances face each other across a central plaza, and your Park Hopper tickets let you move between them on the same day.

Disneyland Park

Disneyland Park is where it all began. Opened by Walt Disney in 1955, it's the only Disney park he saw completed, and it still has the charm of the original. You enter along Main Street, U.S.A. towards Sleeping Beauty Castle, with Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Adventureland, Frontierland and New Orleans Square spreading out beyond.

Don't miss:

  • Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
  • Tiana's Bayou Adventure: the log flume ride themed to The Princess and the Frog
  • Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway: in the reimagined Mickey's Toontown, a favourite with younger children
  • The classics: Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Indiana Jones Adventure and Matterhorn Bobsleds
  • After dark: fireworks over Sleeping Beauty Castle and Fantasmic! on the Rivers of America
  • With younger children, look out for Bluey's Best Day Ever at the Fantasyland Theatre.

Disney California Adventure Park

Disney California Adventure celebrates California, Pixar and Marvel, and it has many of the resort's biggest thrill rides. You enter along Buena Vista Street, inspired by 1920s Los Angeles.

Don't miss:

  • Cars Land: a life-size Radiator Springs, with Radiator Springs Racers, one of the most popular rides at the resort
  • Avengers Campus: WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure and Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!
  • Pixar Pier: the Incredicoaster, Toy Story Midway Mania! and the Pixar Pal-A-Round wheel
  • Grizzly Peak: the Grizzly River Run rapids and Soarin'
  • San Fransokyo Square: the Big Hero 6 themed area, with places to eat and meet Baymax
  • After dark: World of Color, a night-time show of fountains, music and projections on the lagoon

There's more to come. New Avengers Campus attractions and a Coco boat ride are under construction, so the park will keep growing over the next few years.

Four park days is ideal for a first visit, with time to enjoy both parks without rushing. For more ideas, see all our Disneyland California holidays.

  • Different dates: we can quote for UK school holidays, including summer, Easter and October half term.
