Sample Itinerary of Cape Town, Dubai & Safari

Days 1-5

Depart Manchester and fly via Dubai to Cape Town with Emirates.

On arrival, pick up your hire car and head to your hotel - the beautiful, central boutique style hotel, the Cape Town Hollow Hotel.

Just a short stroll from the trendy bars and restaurants of Kloof and Long Street, this hotel is a brilliant base to allow you to explore the city with its museums and art galleries. All rooms have a tranquil open air balcony from which you can enjoy spectacular views of Cape Town and Table Mountain.

On day 3 it is an early start with many treats in store for the next few days!

Start with the famous cable car journey to the top of Table Mountain to view the stunning views on offer.

In the afternoon visit the Cape Town Diamond Works and explore the city.

Next is an exhilarating full day your of the Great White Sharks Cage Diving including a scenic drive to Gansbaai with breakfast at the Great White House.

You will anchor at Dyer Islands and Geyser Rock where you can watch the crew lure the sharks to the boat.

Days 5-6

The Garden Route self-drive will begin today by heading east to Hermanus - the world's best spot for whale watching. The best time of the year for this May-December when they will often come as close as 10 metres off the coast.

You will stay overnight at the Les Baleines Guest House with a blue flag beach just 5 minutes away.

Days 6-7

Drive from Hermanus to Oudtshoorn along route 62.

The mountainous landscape leads you towards the world's largest ostrich area - a must to trip! Stay overnight at the Hlangana Lodge Oudtshoorn - a stylish luxury guest house.

Days 7-8

Today you will be driving to Knysna, stopping off for a visit at the Cango Caves before making your way through to George and then onto Knysna.

The Knysna lagoon is great for an afternoon of water sports and the Wilderness National Park is great to explore.

Stay one night at the Protea Knysna Quay which is on the shores of the famous lagoon and water front. You will find a vast selection of restaurants, bars and speciality boutiques close by.

Days 8-9

Next is the drive from Knysna to Plettenberg Bay which is approximately 35km away.

You will have plenty of time to explore the Tsitsikamma Forest with its Yellow Wood trees.

Stay overnight at the NH Plettenberg Bay hotel which offers fine dining and a taste of Africa.

Days 9-10

The final part of the self-drive tour takes you to Port Elizabeth by crossing the Storms River Bridge.

Stay at the Beach Hotel for one night. This hotel is chosen for it's amazing views over Hobie Beach where you can relax and unwind after a day of exploration.

Enjoy a meal in of the three a la carte restaurants or take a dip in the pool.

Days 10-13

Drop off your vehicle and be transferred from Port Elizabeth to the Kariega Game Reserve where you will spend the next 3 nights.

It is the perfect Big 5 safari destination in a malaria free zone. Staying in luxury safari lodge accommodation offers the ultimate in authentic African safari holidays.

Experience close up encounters with the Big 5 - lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards and buffalo as well as a variety of other African wildlife from the comfort of an open game drive vehicle.

During your stay you will have the chance to enjoy a tranquil boat cruise.

Days 13-17

Leave your safari lodge and transfer early in the morning to Port Elizabeth airport where you will catch a flight to Dubai.

Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel for the last 4 nights - the Jumeriah Beach Hotel.
