Days 1-3
Fly to Thailand with one of our partner airlines such as British Airways or Emirates Airlines and transfer to your City Hotel which is your base for two nights.
Bangkok is a sprawling city on the banks of the Chao Praya River, north of the Gulf of Thailand. The city abounds with the sounds and smells associated with the Far East. Orange robed Buddhist monks mix with smart suited businessmen blending the old with the new. Take a trip to the Grand Palace, one of the most beautiful buildings of ancient Siam and marvel at the splendour of the Emerald Buddha Temple. Sample authentic Thai cuisine then be entertained by the traditional and elegant movements of classical Thai dancers.
Watch local farmers navigate the floating markets in boats piled high with produce from the fertile lands surrounding canal at Damnern Saduak. The area provides a huge range of fruit such as grapes, mangoes and papayas and locals flock to the market to buy and sell what they have grown.
Thailand was the scene of one of the most remarkable engineering feats of the Second World War, take a trip to Kanchanaburi to visit the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre which explains the history of the railway and the significance of the cemeteries which are nearby. Pause a while on the cast iron bridge which stretches across the River Kwai.
Sit back and marvel at the spectacular scenery of the jungle whilst listening to the sounds produced by the myriad of wildlife which inhabits the dense forest, travelling on long tail boat to your overnight accommodation- a simple but comfortable bamboo raft. Be soothed by the sounds of the water rushing below and relax as the sun sets over the trees at the end of another fabulous day.
Ayutthaya was the capitol of ancient Siam until the mid 1700's and is home to historic temples such as Wat Sri Sanpetch and Wat Yai Chai and many stunning ruins from the countries distant past. Bathe in one of the many water cascades in the area or visit Erawan National Park to visit its beautiful waterfall.
Days 3-5
Next head off to the north, visit the Sukothai - the ancient capital of Siam before journeying through jungle clad mountains before arriving at Chiang Mai. From here take a trip to the Burmese border to visit the villages and their inhabitants.
Days 5-7
The northern part of Thailand is the country at its wildest, lush vegetation covers the mountainous region and wildlife abounds. It is also the home of Mae Ka Chan city and its famed hot springs and not forgetting the mighty Mekong River which just invites further discovery. A must see is the Mae Sa elephant camp, watch them work and take the opportunity to ride one of these magnificent animals, and don't forget to see the handicrafts such as jewellery and silk for which the area is also famous for.
Days 7-14
After all of this travelling, why not extend your stay at one of Thailand's beautiful beaches. Stay in 5 Star luxury on golden sands taking in a traditional massage or just chilling out at the end of your journey of discovery. Whatever you decide, Thailand awaits.
