Days 1-6
Depart from the United Kingdom on a flight with one of our airline partners Virgin Atlantic, Delta Airlines, American Airlines or British Airways to John F Kennedy International Airport, New York. Avoid the summer crowds and the heat and humidity of the city by flying out in April or May. Collect your car hire upon arrival and head towards the skyscrapers of Manhattan and stay at the Hotel Edison; located on the corner of Times Square it is a perfect spot from where to begin your North American adventure. New York is by far one of the most famous cities in the world and has the attractions to match its reputation. Take a boat from Manhattan harbour to view the Statue of Liberty, enjoy a show on Broadway and travel to the top of the Empire State Building for spectacular views of the city both day and night.
Days 6-9
After the excitement of New York, check out of your hotel and head north through the beautiful north-eastern countryside towards Niagara Falls. This famous attraction comprises some of the most spectacular waterfalls in the world, and forms part of the border between the USA and Canada. On arrival check in to the Quality Hotel and Suites at the falls, within minutes of the natural phenomena that awaits you. There are many ways to witness the power of nature at the falls, with the Maid of the Mist boat tour, Cave of the Winds Tour or perhaps take to the air in a helicopter tour above the falls.
Days 9-10
Once you have dried out from the falls, head to Lancaster in Pennsylvania where you will stay at Lancaster Marriott, Penn Square. Only recently opened this is a great hotel in the centre of Lancaster, the closest city to the Amish community that live in the Pennsylvania countryside. Uncover a completely different way of living to the modern cities of the Eastern Seaboard, a glimpse of life in the founding years of the United States by taking a horse drawn buggy through the beautiful countryside and the communities of the Amish people.
Days 10-12
The final stop in your multi-centre holiday is the iconic seat of the United States government, Washington DC. On arrival check in to your hotel the Marriott Wardman Park a great hotel that is located within walking distance of the National Zoological Park, home to over 400 species of animals. Jump on the Metro to explore heart of the city. Georgetown is a must see attraction, and home to a great selection of bars and restaurants.
Day 12
Finish any last minute shopping and drive to Washington Dules International Airport, drop off your car and enjoy your flight back to the United Kingdom after your amazing self-drive holiday around the North East of the USA.
