Fly direct with our partner airline Icelandair, direct from London, Manchester, Birmingham or Glasgow into Reykjavik Airport ready to begin your city break holiday.
Upon arrival into the airport you will be met by your transfer and taken directly to the Best Western Hotel Reykjavik, a superb 3 star property with a central location. This is a modern and attractive hotel found right in the heart of the city, within walking distance to Langavegur, the main shopping street in the city, and a few minutes further to the old city centre with its choice of bars, restaurants and nightclubs. This is the ideal base to use for exploring the cities sights and inland Iceland.
The hotels facilities include a bar, 24 hour front desk, safety deposit boxes, a games room and a currency exchange desk. The guestrooms are comfortable and well equipped, with satellite TV, telephone, minibar, wireless internet, tea and coffee making facilities and a hairdryer.
La Luna Italian Pizzeria and Restaurant can be found adjacent to the hotel, a family owned restaurant which serves up the best Italian-inspired dishes. You are also only minutes away from a further selection of restaurants.
Visit the City Hall found on the northern shores of Lake Tjornin, an impressive modern building, opened in 1992, connecting nature, water and bird life to the city centre. Peruse the galleries with their new exhibitions, or have a bite to eat at Café Radhuskaffi with stunning views over the lake.
Hofdi House is another popular tourist attraction, built in 1909, its best known for the summit meeting held here between presidents Ronald Regan and Mikhail Gorbatsjov in 1986, that effectively ended the Cold War and was also visited by the Queen Of England, Winston Churchill and Marlene Dietrich. You may even be lucky enough to see The White Lady, a resident ghost rumoured to like scaring its occupants.
A must for anyone visiting Reykjavik is to visit the Blue Lagoon; this is one of the most popular places to visit in Iceland. This is a spectacular lagoon set into rugged lava landscape, the waters temperature is between 37 and 39 degrees C. Relax in the warm geothermal seawater whilst enjoying the breath-taking scenery surrounding you.
After your 6 nights enjoying the sights and sounds of Reykjavik, your transfer will be ready to drive you back to the airport, ready for your return flight home.
