Miami and Bahamas Twin Centre Holiday
7 Nights Miami
Fly into Miami from the UK with one of our airline partners, Virgin Atlantic, British Airways or United Airlines and land in one of Florida’s most beloved cities – Miami! In Miami you will drive to your hotel, the Hilton Cabana Miami Beach, in your hire car (picked up from Miami International Airport). Your hotel is situated on the North end of Miami Beach and this area of Miami’s beautiful stretch of golden sand is a much more family friendly environment, compared to the infamous Miami South Beach, which is why recommend staying in North Beach Miami if you are visiting as a family.
On your first day in Miami, why not spend some time exploring the city? You could visit Little Havana where you will experience amazing Cuban cuisine and hear wonderful Latin music drifting though the streets. Or perhaps, you’ll want to spend your afternoon strolling down Ocean Drive to see the iconic South Beach, Miami Skyline, and the beautiful art deco region of Miami.
On your second day in Miami, it’s time to visit the Florida Everglades National Park! The Florida Everglades National Park is just a short drive from Miami and is the best place to see some of Florida’s native wildlife including alligators, snakes, crocodiles, and a variety of different bird species. The best way to see the Florida Everglades National Park is via high-speed airboat – your airboat will take you deep into the swamp and is the best way to spot some alligators in the Everglades! High-speed airboat tours are fun for all the family and will be pre-organised by Charter Travel when booking your Miami and Atlantis 2-week holiday!
Day 3 is all about relaxing…and a quick visit to the Florida Keys! Crandon Park, located on Key Biscayne, is an 800-acre beautiful oasis with a picture-perfect beach, golf course, tennis centre, nature centre and marina! Spend your day relaxing on the golden sand of Crandon Park’s 2-mile-long beach – you might even see a sea turtle or two as they often nest on this beach! There are plenty of water sport activities to keep the whole family entertained including paddleboarding, kayaking, kite boarding and more. If you want to relax in style on Crandon Park beach, then why not rent a private cabana complete with parking spot and a private shower! If you’re wanting a quick bite to eat after a long day in the sun, why not check out Norman’s American Bar & Grill in Miami North Beach for some classic American food!
After relaxing on the beautiful shores of Key Biscayne, it’s time to check out one of Miami’s most revered neighbourhoods, Coral Gables. Coral Gables is known for its tree-lined streets, huge mansions and historic landmarks like the Biltmore Hotel and the Venetian Pool. The Venetian Pool is where you will be making your way to on day 4 in Miami for a day of fun in the sun, swimming and enjoy the beautiful architecture of the Coral Gables attraction. The Venetian Pool was built in the 1920s and inspired by Mediterranean architecture – when visiting this wonderful oasis you’ll find swaying palm trees, coral rock formations, flowing waterfalls and mystic caves to explore. The Venetian Pool does close on certain national holidays and during the off season, so be sure to check the pool’s opening times before visiting. After a day of swimming and sunning yourself, if you’re not too tired, why not stroll down Coral Gables’ beloved shopping street Miracle Mile where you can browse or window shop before having some dinner in one of the world-renowned restaurants in the area!
On day 5 in Miami, it’s time to wander into the wilderness…. well, more like kayak through the mangroves! You’ll be heading to Oleta River State Park where you can kayak, canoe or paddleboard along the calm waters of the river estuary. The water channels are lined with mangrove trees and are home to many of Florida’s native species of fish and birds including black crabs that scurry along the mangrove roots and herons flying high above. You might also see another of Florida’s most loved residents, manatees, along with other marine life.
Your final 2 days in Miami are all about the beach – Miami Beach to be exact! Famed for beautiful golden sands, clear blue water, high-rise hotels, nightlife and more! South Beach is Miami Beach’s most well-known area and is idea for couples visiting who want to soak up the Miami nightlife and party scene, however North Beach (where you are staying) is a much more relaxed and family friendly environment with open green spaces, beautiful golden sand, and blue ocean waters. Take your final 2 days in Miami to enjoy the amazing stretch of Miami coastline, visit the iconic Miami Beach Bandshell, or stroll throughout North Beach Oceanside Park – an open green space that is perfect for families with young children that leads directly to the beach! Lastly, on one of your days in Miami, if the games are on, be sure to catch a Miami Dolphins (American) Football or Miami Marlins Baseball game – these sporting events are fun for all the family and make for a great day or evening out!
