Best Beaches to Visit in Maui

A 2025 Maui holiday would not be complete without experiencing the beautiful beaches Maui has to offer, and there are many! Visiting the beaches of Maui should be one of the first things you do on your 2025 Hawaii holiday or honeymoon as they are the perfect place to relax, swim, snorkel, surf, eat and take in the amazing views of Maui! There are so many amazing beaches to visit that listing them all would be far too long! Here are our top 5 Maui beaches that you will certainly want to visit! We recommend hiring a car on Maui to make sure you get to do everything you want to at your own pace – this means you can come and go to beaches as you please and maybe even find a secret secluded beach on your Maui travels! We at Charter Travel can organise this car hire for you when you book your 2025 Hawaii holiday.

Makena Beach State Park

Makena Beach State Park is the ideal family-friendly beach if you are looking to set up for the day and enjoy the Hawaiian sea and sunshine. It is the most photographed beach in Hawaii, so you are in for some amazing scenery: the beautiful golden sand, clear blue sea, mountainous backdrop and even some beach volleyball nets to play with your family/ friends! Makena Beach has two beaches, “Big Beach” and “Little Beach” with two entrances, though both are equally amazing.

Kapalua Bay Beach

Kapalua Bay Beach is a popular beach on Maui and its clear water is the ideal snorkelling spot! This golden sand beach looks out over clear blue waters and is lined with palm trees giving it a truly tropical feel. This beach also has showers, toilets and a public drinking fountain – we recommend bringing a picnic for when you get peckish!

Kahekili Beach Park

Kahekili Beach Park is a beautiful beach with clam waters perfect for paddle boarding on your 2025 Hawaiian holiday. Though you will have to bring your own paddle board to this beach it is definitely worth it – this beach is particularly beautiful at sunset as it faces West so be sure to bring enough supplies to last until sunset and watch the sun descend over the Pacific Ocean.

Ka‘anapali Beach

Ka‘anapali Beach is the perfect golden sand beach lined with lush palm trees and facing beautiful blue waters. This is a popular beach for snorkelling, scuba diving, cliff jumping, stand-up paddling, boogie boarding, surfing, sunbathing and cocktail drinking! If you are staying at the Ka‘anapali resort you will have direct access to this beach, otherwise you can park up and walk here. There will be plenty to eat and drink here due to its proximity to surrounding resorts so be sure to make the most of the food and drink access while at Ka‘anapali beach!

Wailea Beach

Wailea Beach is a beautiful stretch of golden sand perfect for any Hawaii honeymoon holiday. There is a beach front path you can walk along to just admire the view or plenty of golden sand to stretch out on and swim, snorkel or paddleboard. Wailea Beach fronts the Grand Wailea and Four Seasons so you will have direct access to this beach if you are staying here, if not the beach is open to the public and buying a drink at the hotel bars will also get you access to the hotel pools!

There are so many beaches to explore and visit whilst in Maui and all around the Hawaiian Islands. Comparing beaches is a super fun activity to do with your family when Island hopping around the Hawaiian Islands and there are so many that taking pictures at each beach is essential to make sure you don’t forget!
