Sample Itinerary of Colorado Wyoming & Utah

Days 1-2

Depart the UK on your flight into Denver with United Airlines. Upon arrival, collect your car hire from the Alamo rental desk. Make your way to your hotel, Hotel Teatro in the heart of downtown Denver, where you will be staying for the night. Explore the mile high city of Denver, take an excursion of the US Mint or explore some of the thriving arts and culture in the many theatres and museums.

Days 2-3

Take the short drive to the town of Boulder. Here, there are plenty of boutiques, sidewalk cafes and a great local market. This small town is nestled at the base of the Rocky Mountains and there are plenty of activities for the perfect adventure holiday. You will be staying overnight at the Millennium Harvest House. This hotel is ideally located, and features a fitness centre, 15 tennis courts and indoor and outdoor pools. There is even an original cigar bar!

Days 3-4

Take to the road and drive 40 miles to the town of Estes Park, surrounded by hiking trails and a beautiful mountain scenery. You will stay overnight at the Rocky Mountain Inn. The Rocky Mountain National Park is just 2 miles drive away.

Days 4-5

Start early and set off on your 230 mile drive to the town of Saratoga, passing through some of the spectacular scenery of the Rocky Mountain National Park, before crossing over into the state of Wyoming. Upon arrival into Saratoga, check in to the Saratoga Inn. While in Saratoga, be sure to relax and rejuvenate in one of the famous Saratoga hot springs.

Days 5-6

Leave Saratoga and head to Riverton, around 190 miles away, passing through the Wyoming wilderness with a short stop en route at South Pass City, a historical site where you can pan for gold, before arriving at Riverton. You will stay overnight at the Holiday Inn Riverton.

Days 6-8

Move further north and cover 230 miles of open road into the Yellowstone National Park, world famous as being of the most beautiful national parks in America. You have 2 nights to explore the area - we recommend checking out the Geyser Circle, a hike which starts and ends at the Old Faithful Geyser. Take a leisurely drive up to the hot springs or relax on Lake Yellowstone. Your hotel for this part of the trip will be the Old Faithful Snow Lodge.

Days 8-9

Make your way from Yellowstone National Park back down towards the town of Jackson, approximately 115 mile - look out for the grizzly bears, moose and buffalo on your journey out of the Yellowstone National Park! Jackson is well known for skiing and outdoor activities. It offers a great atmosphere with traditional western style bars and restaurants. Stay overnight at the Wagon Wheel Village.

Days 9-10

Continue south from Jackson down to Vernal in north east Utah, and stay at the Best Western Dinosaur Inn for the night.

Days 10-11

Tonight you will stay at the Steamboat Resort - a popular choice at Steamboat Springs because of its fantastic location and position at the foot of the mountains.

Days 11-13

Travel across the open road to Aspen and check in to the Sky Hotel Aspen. Aspen is well known for its skiing during the winter months, and its hiking, mountain trails and horse riding in the spring and summer. Aspen is also renowned for having some of the best restaurants in the mid-west and the town itself attracts many celebrities who both visit and live in the town and its surrounding areas.

Days 13-14

Heading east, your journey will take you through the Rockies, using some famous routes such as Independence Pass, and passing alongside Mount Elbert, which is the highest point in Colorado before arriving into Colorado Springs. The hotel we have chosen for is the Cheyenne Mountain Resort. During your stay we would suggest a visit to Pikes Peak and the US Air Force Academy.

Day 14

Drive back towards Denver for some last minute shopping before boarding your flight back to the UK.
