Home to fabulous beaches, amazing luxury shopping, 5* hotels, thrilling theme parks, picturesque scenery and much more…this statement is equally true of both California and Florida! A California and Florida Twin Centre holiday means you no longer need to choose between two of the most loved American holiday destinations, instead you can enjoy everything California has to offer before heading down to the Sunshine State of Florida!
If theme parks are what you are after, then a California and Florida Twin Centre holiday is going to provide you with non-stop thrills and an action-packed adventure! Los Angeles is famed for its theme parks: Disneyland California is home to 2 theme parks, Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park and the shopping complex Downtown Disney, where you can experience iconic rides such as the Pixar Pal-A-Round and new favourites like Star Wars Rise of the Resistance! Los Angeles is also home to Universal Studios Hollywood where you can take a tour backstage and see Universal’s actual working studio lot – complete with movie and TV sets you’ll recognise from your favourite shows! If thrills are what you are after, then whilst in Los Angeles you will certainly want to check out Six Flags Magic Mountain…though this theme park is known for its coasters and is not for the faint hearted!
After experiencing the theme park thrills of LA, your Twin Centre holiday will take you down to Orlando, Florida where you can enjoy the Magic of Disney once again at Walt Disney World Orlando! Walt Disney World Orlando is much bigger than its California counterpart however and is home to 4 theme parks, 2 water parks and the amazing Disney Springs! Walt Disney World Orlando is really the home of Disney! In Orlando you will also find Universal Studios Orlando, which is again bigger than its California counterpart as it offers 2 theme parks and 1 water park! Though, the biggest difference is, of course, no studio tour in Orlando – Universal Orlando is much more about epic rides, for example their new ride the Velocicoaster is the most terrifying and revolutionary ride at any Universal Theme Park worldwide! If you are looking for more coaster thrills after riding the Velocicoaster then be sure to visit Busch Gardens in Tampa and ride all 8 of their world-class rollercoasters!
If beaches are more your style, then a California and Florida Twin Centre holiday is the perfect choice to make the most of America’s best and most loved beaches! San Diego is home to stunning beaches that are also teeming with things to do. Coronado beach is one of San Diego’s best and a visit here will treat you to sights of beautiful golden sands, hordes of surfers catching a wave and if visiting between December and February you may even see some whales as they love to come close to the beach at this time. Whilst in Coronado you can make the most of Hotel Del Coronado – a unique, world-famous hotel positioned directly on the beach! Santa Monica State Beach is another beloved Californian beach that welcomes visitors year-round; its beautiful golden sands, the turquoise Pacific Ocean and the infamous Santa Monica Pier makes for a fantastic day out!
Florida’s beaches are equally famed and many travellers who visit Florida for Walt Disney World never even get to experience the natural beauty on offer in Florida. An easier one to visit for those staying in Orlando is the amazing Clearwater Beach on Florida’s Gulf Coast. Clearwater Beach is known for its shallow water and soft, white sands making it ideal for families with young children or anyone who prefers to paddle! There are also plenty of fabulous hotels in the area to choose from, for example the Opal Sands Resort has sleek architecture and modern designs with nearly every room offering an ocean view! Further down the beaches get more and more famous: Fort Lauderdale Beach, Miami South Beach and Mid-Beach Miami are some of Florida’s most famous beaches that attract tourists and locals alike to their golden sands and bright blue shores. Though, if you’re wanting to visit a more secluded beach then heading down to the Florida Keys will give you exactly what you are looking for; Sombrero Beach, Marathon, Vaca Key is a white sand beach with a distinctly Caribbean feel due to it being lined with palm trees and being the home of nesting sea turtles, Calusa Beach, Bahia Honda State Park, Big Pine Key is arguably one of the best in the Florida Keys and though small its white sands and turquoise blue water is picture perfect, and Smathers Beach, Key West is one of the larger beaches in the Keys but still beautifully tropical with clear blue water and white sands – you can even rent water sporting equipment like paddleboards here and enjoy some local food at the nearby restaurants.
Whilst in California and Florida you’ll also have your pick of accommodation to choose from; from simple hotel rooms that accommodate moderate budgets, beautiful boutique hotels that make your holiday unique, and grand and luxurious hotels and suites with fabulous views! The Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills, Los Angeles is a magnificent 5* hotel option, located in the middle of LA and complete with a spa, rooftop pool and fine dining options. The Hotel Zephyr is a chic and charismatic hotel right on Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco that offers guests a more budget-friendly stay whilst still providing an excellent location and services. Visitors heading out to Yosemite National Park will certainly want to plan to stay the night (or 2) to really appreciate the National Park and Yosemite Valley Lodge is an amazing lodge style hotel with views of Yosemite Falls!
Florida’s hotel options are equally as impressive; if you are looking to stay right in the action at Walt Disney World then a hotel that really impresses is The Animal Kingdom Lodge due to its excellent theming that really makes you believe you are on Safari! Universal Studios Florida also have on-site hotels that offer great value for money: Universal’s Endless Summer Resort Surfside Inn and Suites and Dockside Inn and Suites are the Universal Resorts’ most value hotels, but they do not feel this way – their polished look, great theming, Volcano Bay view rooms, and huge pools make them excellent choices for your more budget-friendly Florida hotel. Another extraordinary Floridian hotel, located near Fort Lauderdale, is The Guitar Hard Rock Hotel – a fabulously themed Hard Rock hotel in the shape of a guitar that has been the subject of many celebrity Instagram shots!
