Los Angeles and New York Twin Centre Holiday
Days 1 — 7
When you arrive in Los Angeles, you’ll want to pick your car from LAX – this California city is notorious for being spread out and lacking in public transport, so a car is essential. Once you have picked up your car, you can make the drive to your LA hotel The Garland. This hotel is located in North Hollywood and is just minutes from Universal Studios Hollywood. A trip to Universal Studios Hollywood is ideal for your 2nd day in Los Angeles not only because it is so close but because it is home to fast, fun and family rides, the shopping hub of CityWalk, and the working Universal Film Studios! The Film Studios are really the main attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood, and you can see the props and actual film sets from some of the most popular Universal Studios TV shows and films! Super fans of Universal, or even those wanting to do something extra-special, will want to book the VIP Experience as you will have your own tour guide of the Universal Studios sets and be allowed to hop off the trolly to explore the sets yourself! You will also have escorted express access to rides, shows and attractions, Unlimited Express Passes, access to the private VIP dining room, complimentary valet parking and VIP entry to the Park! If a trip to Universal isn’t enough for your theme park fix then on day 3 lovers of fast rides can visit Six Flags Magic – home to rides like Full Throttle and BATMAN The Ride. Those looking for more family-fun adventures on their Los Angeles holiday will want to drive out to Anaheim and check into the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel Anaheim Resort. You will stay here for 1 night which will allow you to visit the 2 Disneyland California Parks: Disney California Adventure Park and Disneyland Park. Whether you are out in Anaheim or still in LA, on day 5 you could make the drive out to Santa Monica (only half an hour from Los Angeles) where you can visit the Santa Monica Pier with all its rides, attractions and restaurants including the Pacific Wheel and Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. (for fans of Forest Gump!). You can easily spend a day at the pier there is so much to do, and Santa Monica it’s a lovely town itself to have a look around. The Santa Monica Beach is also the perfect place to do some sunbathing! On Day 6, your second to last day on holiday, it’s time to see a few final things to tick off your California Bucket List and there is so much to choose from: for example, the Griffith Observatory, the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Grove, Grand Central Market, and Venice Beach Boardwalk. On you final day in Los Angeles you will want to make the most of your time – if you have a late flight why not stop for some lunch at the iconic In-N-Out Burger before making your way to LAX!
Days 7 — 9
When you arrive in New York City the first thing you’ll notice are the Skyscrapers… these will only get taller as you make your way towards your hotel the Riu Plaza in Times Square. After looking around Times Square, head towards Central Park; on your way you’ll walk down Fifth Avenue where you can admire some of New York’s most exclusive stores. Once in Central Park, take in the iconic open space, the New York City Skyline towering above the trees, and if it is Christmas time be sure to have a go at ice skating on the Central Park Ice Rink! On your way back to your excellently located hotel in Times Square, you can detour to Rockefeller Center where you will find some more affordable shops and fantastic New York Bagel shops. If you are visiting at Christmas Time, it is here in Rockefeller Center that you will be able to see the famous New York Christmas Tree! At Rockefeller Center you can also go to the ‘Top of The Rock’ and look out over the city. On day 2 in New York there are many options for sightseeing: The Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, The National September 11 Memorial & Museum, the Brooklyn Bridge, the American Museum of Natural History, Radio City Music Hall to name a few! This is the day you’ll want to make sure you are up early to really make the most of your time in New York - luckily the city is quite walkable, and the Subway System is very easy to figure out…alternately you can take one of the New York Yellow Cabs around the city! Theatre buffs will also want to make the most of the evening of day 2 by watching a show on Broadway, followed by some dinner in SOHO. Be sure to pre-book your tickets before your trip to make sure you don’t miss out! On your final day in New York, you could do some shopping, have an iconic New York hotdog from one of the street vendors or maybe pick up a few souvenirs in Times Square.
