Depart the UK on a direct flight to Los Angeles with Virgin Atlantic, British Airways or United Airlines. Upon arrival, collect your vehicle from the car rental desk and make your way to your hotel for the first three nights. Hollywood will be your base and you will stay at the Sheraton Universal Resort, which is connected by tram to Universal Studios. Within walking distance are copious bars and restaurants. While in Hollywood, be sure to take a stroll along the walk of fame and take a trip to Santa Monica and Venice Beach for beautiful sunsets, great shopping and fine dining.
Time to play a spot of golf! Drive approximately 110 miles to Palm Springs where you will be staying at the Holiday Inn Resort Palm Springs for the next two nights. Palm Springs is a well-known retreat of the rich and famous and is the perfect place to relax and visit the world class golf courses.
After being rejuvenated in Palm Springs, it is time to head towards the city that never sleeps, Las Vegas. Try your luck on the tables or head out on the strip to musicals, shows and a variety of shopping and dining venues. We can also arrange a day trip out to the Grand Canyon which you can take by vehicle or helicopter - if you are brave enough, try the Sky Walk for a view you will never forget. The hotel we have chosen for you is right on the strip, in the centre of all the action. The New York New York is a fantastically themed hotel and even houses its own rollercoaster!
leaving Las Vegas on a high (and hopefully richer!), head through the desert towards Death Valley, the lowest, driest and hottest area in North America. Your stay will be at the Furnace Creek ranch, an old working ranch, be transported back in time to the 1800's.
After leaving Death Valley head to the peace and tranquillity of Yosemite National Park. The scenery here is stunning - we recommend you make sure your camera has plenty of battery! Yosemite National park is well known to be the highlight of any Californian trip, with an abundance of wildlife, ghost towns, geographical rock formations, and beautiful lakes. The hotel you will be staying in is the Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite, just two miles from the south entrance to Yosemite National Park. The lodge offers trails by day and by night using torchlight for a magnificent excursion. It also offers two heated swimming pools, indoor and outdoor, four spa tubs and spa treatments for a totally relaxing experience.
No holiday in California would be complete without a trip to the city of San Francisco and head to your hotel for the last three nights - the Hotel Caza Fishermans Wharf. Located a short walk from Pier 39, this hotel is a fantastic base from which to explore this popular Californian city. Be sure to visit the famous island of Alcatraz and witness the cells and living quarters from this now derelict prison - you will get a fantastic view of San Francisco Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge from the boat trip across. If you are feeling energetic we recommend you cycle across the bridge or you can enjoy it at leisure in your hire car.
On your last day, spend your last few hours soaking up the busy atmosphere of Fishermans Wharf or do a spot of last minute shopping at Union Square. Drop of your vehicle and then board your flight back to the UK - for a little extra comfort upgrade your seat to premier seating.
