Built in 1986 but in a 1950s style, the Elvis Presley theme runs throughout the boutique hotel which was renovated in 2006. The hotel consists of 128 rooms on 5 floors with a 24 hour reception area, a breakfast room and a popular bar. The Heartbreak Hotel is just across the road from Graceland so is perfect for fans of the King of Rock and Roll. If you prefer to be in a more central location such as Beale Street, we have lots of other hotel options for you to consider.
While you are on your holiday in Memphis, we have planned an excursion - the VIP tour of Graceland, where you can walk in the blue suede shoes of Elvis Presley and experience the home to the King of Rock and Roll in celebrity style. During your VIP tour you will enjoy an audio tour of the Graceland Mansion and grounds, the Elvis Presley Automobile Museum, a tour of the two Elvis custom aeroplanes, the private Presley exhibition plus some of the restricted areas not available to regular visitors including fun items from Elvis personal wardrobe. While you are in Memphis take a trip to the birth place of Elvis, a 2 hour drive is needed to Tupelo where you can see the Elvis early years and birth place along with other sights.
Spend the next few days at leisure visiting some of the sights that Memphis has to offer. A stroll down the historic Beale Street is a must for your holiday in Memphis. A tour of the famous Gibson Memphis Guitar Factory can also be taken on Beale Street, where you can see how these fabulous musical instruments are made and how they have shaped the world of music. During your holiday in Memphis you may wish to take in the Civil Rights Museum which is one of a kind, the museum is dedicated to the struggle for civil rights in the United States. The museum is located in the renovated Lorraine Motel which is also the hotel where Martin Luther King, Jr was assassinated in 1968.
Memphis also has other famous sights such as the Peabody Ducks - each day, morning and night, a parade of five ducks march to the sounds of Sousa King Cotton March into the fountain in the lobby of the Peabody hotel. The Mississippi River provides miles of parks and areas of beauty where you can sit and pass the day by. Music lovers will want to pay a visit to Sun Studio, the recording home to many artists such as Elvis, Johnny Cash, Ike Turner and more.
