New York and Los Angeles Holiday

Days 1 - 3

When you arrive in New York City the first thing you’ll notice is the sky-high buildings… these will only get taller and taller as you make your way towards your hotel in Times Square. On your first day in New York you’ll want to have a look around Times Square – M&M World, The Hard Rock Café, Giant Billboards – everything you pictured is there. after looking around Times Square, head towards Central Park; on your way you’ll walk down Fifth Avenue where you can window shop or pop into some of New York’s most exclusive stores. Once in Central Park, you can take you time strolling around the lovely open space – if it is Christmas time be sure to have a go at ice skating on the infamous Centra Park Ice Rink! On your way back to your excellently located hotel in Times Square, head to Rockefeller Center where there are some more affordable shops and authentic New York Bagel shops. It is here in Rockefeller Center that if you are visiting in December, you will be able to see the famous New York Christmas Tree! At Rockefeller Center you can also go to the ‘Top of The Rock’ and look out over the city. On day 2 in New York there are many options for sightseeing: The Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, The National September 11 Memorial & Museum, the Brooklyn Bridge, the American Museum of Natural History, Radio City Music Hall to name a few! This is the day you’ll want to really get stuck in to seeing all the top sights of New York – and luckily the city is quite walkable, and the Subway System is very easy to figure out…alternately you can take one of the New York Yellow Cabs around the city! If you are interested in theatre, then the evening of day 2 is perfect for watching a Broadway show after having a bite to eat in SOHO – be sure to pre-book your tickets before your trip to make sure you don’t miss out! On your final day in New York, you might want to do a bit of shopping, head to a few cafés, and have some iconic New York coffee or maybe pick up a few souvenirs in Times Square.

Days 4 – 10

When you arrive in Los Angeles, you’ll notice that even though both destinations on your Twin Centre holiday are cities, New York and LA are very different. In New York you could rely on public transportation and Taxis to get around however, for your trip to Los Angeles you’ll want to hire a car as everything is so spread out. On your first day in Los Angeles, after checking in, you’ll want to head over to the iconic Rodeo Drive – you can walk down the infamous shopping street and simply people watch or make a purchase if you feel like it! LA is known for its luxury shopping, and you might even see a celebrity or two whilst there. On your 2nd Day in Los Angeles, theme park fans and rollercoaster lovers will want to head out of the city to Six Flags Magic Mountain where you can experience rides like Full Throttle and BATMAN The Ride. If you are more into family-fun theme parks rather than big rollercoasters, then on day 2 you will want to visit Disneyland California! There are 2 Disneyland California parks so depending on how much you love Disney, you might want to dedicate a few days to the theme parks and even stay in Anaheim for the night to be close to the Magic. On Day 3 it’s time to visit Universal Studios Hollywood – home to fast and family rides, the shopping hub of CityWalk, and the working Universal Film Studios! The Film Studios are really the shining jewel of Universal Studios Hollywood, and you can see actual film sets and props from some of the most epic TV shows and films made by Universal Studios! Super fans of Universal, or even those wanting to do something extra-special, will want to book the VIP Experience as you will have your own tour guide of the Universal Studios sets and be allowed to hop off the trolly to explore the sets yourself! You will also have escorted express access to rides, shows and attractions, Unlimited Express Passes, access to the private VIP dining room, complimentary valet parking and VIP entry to the Park!

On Day 4 it’s time to switch things up and drive out to Malibu where you will spend the day on some of LA’s most beloved beaches. On Day 5 you will carry on with the more relaxed flow of your holiday by driving out to Venice Beach and walking along the infamous Venice Boardwalk. Along here there are plenty of shops and cafes to have a look in and also the famous Muscle Beach where you can observe the fitness fanatics or have a go at the beach-side gym yourself! On Day 5 adventurers will want to lace up their hiking boots to hike up the Hollywood Hill for fantastic views of the Los Angeles Skyline, or for those who are not so keen on a hike this is the day you can visit some of LA’s most beloved shopping malls to buy all your Los Angeles souvenirs and or simply shop for yourself! On Day 6 you will be driving out of the city for around half an hour to Santa Monica – here you will find the iconic Santa Monica Pier with all its rides, attractions and restaurants including the Pacific Wheel and Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. (for fans of Forest Gump!). You can easily spend a day at the pier there is so much to do, and Santa Monica it’s a lovely town itself to have a look around. The Santa Monica Beach is also a great place to do some sunbathing! On day 7-8 you could drive out to Palm Springs – a lovely desert oasis around an hour and half outside of LA where you could stay in one of the amazing Palm Springs hotels such as the Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs or the Kimpton The Rowan. This will be like a little retreat within your holiday as you can spend 2 days relaxing by the pool, enjoying some delicious food, soaking up the sun and the peacefulness of the desert. On day 9, your second to last day on holiday, you will be back in LA and it’s time to see a few final things: for example, the Griffith Observatory, the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Grove, Grand Central Market and anywhere else on your LA bucket list! On you final day in Los Angeles you will want to make the most of your time – if you have a late flight why not stop for some lunch at the iconic In-N-Out Burger, or head back to Venice Beach for some last-minute people watching as it is only short drive from LAX!
